Q.
What services do you offer?
Knowing that each animal and home is unique, we offer a wide
variety of services. Our sitters come to your home to provide service
so that your pets can stay in their familiar surroundings.
Our visits include
feeding, exercising, daily grooming and potty breaks. We spend what we call "cuddle time"--playing with, petting and loving your pets so they receive the personal
attention they crave while you're away.
We also provide “gate keeping” services such as bringing in your mail and newspaper, taking out the trash, watering plants, alternating lights and rotating blinds.
Q. What areas do you serve? We serve Appleton, Neenah, Menasha, Greenville, Larsen, Grand Chute and Clayton. If you live outside that area, call us and we will try to work something out for you.
Q. Do you have references? Yes. Just ask and we'll be glad to provide references.
Q. Do you scoop poop? Yes. We'll clean up any mess your pet makes while you're gone---inside or outside your home.
Q. Who are your pet sitters?
JUST DOGS pet sitters are
animal lovers, plain and simple. Your pets will be cared for by someone who will love them while you’re away. We are also mature responsible professionals trained in pet first aid. If needed, we will confidently handle emergencies involving your pets or your home. Visit the About Us page to find out more about the background and experience of our sitters.
Q. Can I trust JUST DOGS with my keys and my home? We are trustworthy, long-time Neenah residents. We are also insured. Upon request, we will be happy to provide references. Your name and the content of your home always remain confidential. House keys are coded anonymously. None of our vehicles have company insignia, which prevents people from knowing you're not home.
Q. What time do the sitters come and how long do they stay? Pet sitters will
come to your home up to 3 times each day to take care of your precious pets. Morning
visits take place between 6 am & 9 am and evening visits between 6 pm & 9 pm.
No longer than 12 hours ever goes between morning and evening visits. For example, if your dog was visited at 8 pm, the sitter would arrive at your home no later than 8 am the following morning.
Morning and evening visits usually last about an hour. Mid-day potty breaks usually last about 30 minutes. We will stay longer if requested. Look at our complete list of Services & Rates and tailor your own pet care plan.
Q. Do you have boarding facilities? No. We believe in in-home care, which is why we have chosen not to have a boarding facility.Q. Why is there a registration meeting? When you sign up to become part of the JUST DOGS community, a sitter will come to your home to meet you and your pets. This visit allows you to get to know our services and your sitter. It also allows us to meet you and your pets, pick up keys, confirm pertinent information about your household and your pets (e.g. vet information, emergency contact, special requests, etc.) and to answer any questions you have.
Q. My pet has been aggressive in the past - can it still be a client? Our sitter will interview you and your pet, in person, to determine if there is a good fit between your pet and our services. Additional visits may be needed to socialize your pet with our sitter. You would need to be present at these visits and to pay the normal service fee until socialized. If at any time our pet sitter or you feel it is unsafe to perform a service, we reserve the right to discontinue that service.
Q. Can you give my pet her medicine? With your permission we can administer oral medicines to your pet.
Q. How do I drop off or pick up house keys?
A key required to access your
home (and pet!) should be given to JUST DOGS during the registration meeting. If
you are giving a newly copied key, we ask that you PLEASE TEST THE KEY
TO SEE THAT IT WORKS before giving it to the pet sitter.
If you move or your locks change, we ask that you contact us
immediately so we can pick up a new house key.
If you would rather, we pick up and return your key to you at the beginning and end of your out-of-town trip.
Q. How will your pet sitters discipline my pet, if necessary? JUST DOGS believes in positive reinforcement for pets. If your pet goes potty in the house, chews inappropriately, etc., you will be informed of the incident (and we'll clean it up). We will also implement any positive corrective actions you suggest.
Q. What is your 48-Hour Policy? JUST DOGS utilizes a 48-hour scheduling and cancellation policy to make certain all of our clients receive first-rate service. If you call to schedule or cancel a visit with less than 48 hours notice, you may be charged an additional fee as our caregivers must adjust their schedules to accommodate yours.
Q. I had a last minute trip come up suddenly! Can you help me? We will always try to help you on short notice, but we cannot guarantee availability if there is very little time before your trip begins. Note: Major holidays can book up early!
Q. What does it mean that you are insured? We carry a liability insurance policy that protects
you from financial loss in the event we are liable for accidents that occur
while we are caring for your pets.
Q. What will you do if my pet becomes ill while I am away?
Our sitters are trained in pet first aid and they carry pet-specific first aid kits. If we suspect something is wrong with your pet,
we will call you at the emergency phone numbers we have on file. We will
describe the situation. If you believe the veterinarian should see
your pet, we will transport your pet to the veterinarian's office for
examination and treatment.
In the event we cannot reach you, we will decide if
your pet should be seen by the veterinarian. If necessary, we will take your pet
for treatment. You will not be billed for extra time we spend for these
services.
Q.What should I expect when I return home? You can expect to find your pets healthy and happy and your home impeccably maintained. We will leave a note reporting how everything went while you were away. When you arrive home, you need to call us to let us know you've returned. The note we leave will remind you of this.
